How Educational Events Happen
Our events are supported though guild membership dues, registration fees for our events, private sponsorships and occasionally grant money. We will have 501 (C)(3) status by the end of 2012, making donations this year and the following years tax deductible.
Any donation of any size is deeply appreciated.
We are grateful for anyone or organization that will sponsor and event or a speaker. They will be appropriately recognized as allowed by Continuing Medical Education regulations.
Dr. Robert George addresses the 2010 bioethics seminar.
A typical sponsorship for a nationally recognized speaker would be $2500 to cover honorarium and travel expenses. As a sponsor we would make every effort to facilitate your personally meeting and spending some time with the speaker while they are in town. If you have a particular speaker in mind that will fit into the mission of our bioethics and catechesis curriculum, we will make every effort to accommodate your request.
An entire bioethics seminar is another order of magnitude. A 4-speaker, 4-talk, single day event with high-quality video recording and food, will cost between $15-20,000 depending on the honorariums. Our registration fees have typically been kept very low, in order to encourage broad attendance. This strategy has worked as we had 290 people attend our 2011 seminar. The budget shortfall has been covered by private donations.
If you can help with our educational and faith formation mission, please visit our donation page, or contact me.
